Welcome to Black Country Fostering!
Published on
A new chapter for fostering in the Black Country has officially begun as Black Country Fostering opens its doors, bringing together the fostering services of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton councils under one regional hub.
The new hub creates a single point of contact for people interested in fostering, making it easier to access information, advice and support while maintaining strong local connections to children's services across each area.
By joining forces, the four councils aim to strengthen the recruitment, retention and support of foster carers across the region, helping more local children and young people grow up in safe, stable and loving homes close to the communities they know and value.
Black Country Fostering combines the expertise and resources of all four authorities to create a more coordinated and consistent fostering offer. Prospective foster carers can now access guidance through one dedicated service, while existing carers will continue to benefit from ongoing support, training and development opportunities.
The launch comes at a time when there is an ongoing need for more foster carers across the Black Country. Every day, children and young people need caring adults who can provide stability, encouragement and a place to call home. The new hub has been created to raise awareness of fostering, reach new audiences and make it easier than ever for people to explore whether fostering could be right for them.
People from all walks of life can become foster carers. Whether single, married, working, retired, renting or homeowners, many people have the skills, experience and compassion needed to make a lasting difference to a child's life.
The regional hub forms part of national efforts to increase fostering capacity and improve outcomes for children in care, while helping more children remain connected to their local communities.
Anyone who has ever considered fostering is encouraged to get in touch and find out more. Whether they are taking their first steps or are ready to begin the application process, Black Country Fostering is ready to help.
